Bike day!!!!

semi-overcast 18 °C

Rob has been fidgeting since he got off the plane. "When do we go to Cardiff?" "When can we pick them up?"

TODAY

The bikes look even better than anticipated. Good work Rich. We bombed into The Bike Shed on arriving in Cardiff yesterday to see tools, boxes and bikes everywhere. A few tweaks, a smaller frame and it was sorted. For us at any rate. I know the guys at the Bike Shed pulled out all the stops to get everything sorted for us.

So today as we got into Canton the wheels were built, the pedals were on, the frame fitted and the saddle was comfy. All in time to try out the bike whilst we're in the UK so there's time to do any necessary adjustments.

I need a smaller frame which will arrive tomorrow. However we won't be bombing into The Bike Shed to pick it up until Saturday as James and Helen's wedding takes priority tomorrow. We are so looking forward to their much anticipated wedding :0)

This afternoon we met up with Rachel from the South Wales Echo to chat about our plans and aims. We are really hoping interest in our pedalling will raise awareness of the projects we are sponsoring - Lulisandla Kumntwana (or LK) for which we aspire to raise enough money for a 4x4, and HippoRollers - an ingenious solution to water collection.
We really enjoyed meeting Rachel and so much appreciated her enthusiasm.

We will add more details of both the projects and how to donate shortly - please check back.

In the meantime check out The Bike Shed in Canton, Cardiff: www.bikeshedwales.com
